About Zansors

Zansors was a tech startup in the healthcare/medical space, building wearables, mobile apps, and cloud software around the care and treatment of chronic medical conditions.

Challenge

In 2016 Zansors embarked a full website refresh with a full branding update.

A considerable amount of work was done with the board and CEO of Zansors to make sure this website refresh met the requirements of the company from a look and feel standpoint as well as being on-brand. The full team included myself as UX designer/team lead, a visual designer, an offshore developer and two writers/content designers.

This work was done in 2016.

Solution

The new website would be modern in look and feel as well as fully responsive. We used the squarespace platform, and did an extensive amount of custom code to implement our designs.

I worked with the CEO on a Vision Statement for the website refresh. Zansors wanted to position itself as more than a tech company that built sensors and apps.

I spent time with the primary stakeholders and mapping out the overall structure of the website (what content should live where and how it should be organized), built wireframes, organized the page layout and information architecture, and managed the designer and developer throughout the project.

Learnings

This project had a large scope and tight time requirements. I learned the importance of time management, and how to manage stakeholders with regards to scope creep in order to hit our deadlines. I also learned the importance of communication and how to work remote developers especially where there is the additional complication of a time difference and language barrier.

Whiteboarding

Below are some images I took of from initial whiteboard sketches at the office.

Wireframes

The wireframes were initially built to a 12-column grid using design assets based on the latest (at the time) release of bootstrap.

 Mockups

I worked closely with a designer to build out the mockups we used for stakeholder consensus before starting the development process.

 Final Website

Below (right) is a screen capture of the website after it went live sometime around 2016. Left is a screen capture of the previous website as it was before the refresh.
